Hi, I’m Irmela 👋

I’m a Berlin-based engineering leader who still loves writing code. Over the past 13+ years, I’ve worked across the stack, from Rails and Go backends to Flutter mobile apps, and I most enjoy building products that help people organize their work or their lives.

I’ve spent most of the last seven years in leadership roles, but I’ve always stayed close to the code. Whether it’s improving a legacy codebase, setting up developer tooling, or helping teams leverage AI assistants effectively, I like to stay hands-on while focusing on growing people and teams.

I believe diverse teams build better products, and I deeply care about people, clean code, performance, and user experience.
